4 Careers That Do Not Require a College Degree

On March 20, 2021 by Walter Powell

There are plenty of reasons to look for a new career. You may want to find something that is more fulfilling, or maybe you are looking for a better sense of job security. Whatever the reason, you can find a fulfilling new career without heading back to college. If you find yourself looking in a new direction, consider these four positions that do not require a degree.

1. Massage Therapist

If you want to help people feel healthier and more relaxed, then this might be a perfect job for you. Massage therepaists use manual tissue manipulation to ease sore muscles, relieve pain from chronic conditions and help injuries heal. You will need to learn proper techniques and skills before you can practice, so you should be prepared to attend a training program before beginning your massage therapy career Atlanta.

2. Professional Driver

If you enjoy being on the road and spending time alone, consider a career in transportation. A commercial driver’s license opens a lot of career doors. For example, you might perform local deliveries, take cross-country trips or operate transit buses. Look for training programs at community colleges and trade schools. Some trucking companies also provide in-house training to potential drivers.

3. Computer Programmer

A degree in computer science might be preferable if you want to become a programmer, but a strong knowledge of coding programming languages is actually more important. There are several certification courses available online, so you could potentially complete training while still working at another job.

4. Customer Service Representative

Do you love interacting with people all day? If so, then consider taking on a role as a customer service rep. While some companies will require a college degree, most are more interested in your ability to interact positively with customers. Representatives often find work in offices and call centers, but a growing number of positions are available for remote workers, too.

A growing number of Americans are looking to change careers. Before you make your move, consider jobs such as massage therapist, driver and customer service rep that do not require a college degree.
