Helpful Gifts To Give a New Mom
On November 13, 2021 by Walter PowellIf you have a friend or family member who is having a baby for the first time, you’re probably over the moon with excitement for them. You know that they’re probably unsure what they’ll need and how much of it, and you want to focus your gifts on useful things. While getting teddy bears and cute wall hangings are fun, you can be pretty sure that other people will get them that stuff. Here are some helpful gifts you can get for a new mom.
Diapers
Newborns use an average of 10 to 12 diapers a day. If your loved one were to buy the biggest box available at a big box store, that would only last them for about two weeks. Help save your friend some money and headaches from constantly buying more diapers by giving them as a present. Because you don’t know how quickly the baby will grow out of newborn diapers, consider getting one box of newborns and then a couple more of size 1s. That way, you know that your loved one won’t be stuck with loads of diapers they can’t use.
Baby Basket
When babies are very young, most mothers prefer to keep the baby close by. Some mothers choose to co-sleep, and others place their baby in a basket by the bed. Baby baskets are especially helpful as a gift because they can be used anywhere. The mother can carry the sleeping baby in the basket and not worry about waking them up. Plus, they can take the basket to other family members’ houses, so the baby doesn’t need to be held or left alone in a room while they sleep.
Spa Day
It’s easy to think only about the baby when buying presents, but don’t forget about the new mom. She’s going to have her world dramatically change with the birth of the baby, and she’ll welcome an escape. She’ll welcome a gift certificate to a local spa that she can use when she needs to take a break and recharge.
